The Electrical Engineering (EE) department is established primarily to cater for the needs of the local demand for highly skilled engineers in the various sectors of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Hence, the EE department constantly assesses and strengthens its academic programs as well as endeavors to develop and maintain state of the art facilities in order to construct expand or preserve areas of distinction. Also the Imperial College is keen and ready to provide the financial support needed to enrich both the academic and scientific research programs.
The EE department emphasizes empowerment through individual ability and initiative, collective strength through teamwork in an environment that is productive, challenging and yet academically rewarding for both students and faculty.
The educational objectives of the undergraduate program of the Department of Electrical Engineering are to develop professional skills in the students and prepare them for immediate employment in the field of Electrical Engineering. The department aims to develop abilities in the students for the application of the necessary mathematical tools, scientific basics and fundamental knowledge of Electrical Engineering. The students are provided with an educational foundation that prepares them for leadership roles along diverse carrier paths in established companies concerned with power & energy, electronics and industrial control. There is hardly any sphere of modern life that is not affected one way or other, by some aspect of electrical engineering.

About Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical engineering program at Imperial College provides a foundation for professional engineering careers in private and government industries. Mechanical engineers are employed in a wide range of industries, such as manufacturing, transportation, energy, food, biomedical and others. In general, mechanical engineers are involved with the design, research, development, manufacture, testing, distribution, support, maintenance and recycling of devices and products. Automobiles, airplanes, home appliances, robots, rockets, space capsules, printers and computer hard disk drives are some of the various products that have been customarily designed and developed by skilled mechanical engineers. Mechanical engineers possess a strong and firm understanding of natural sciences, mathematics and engineering concepts needed to carry out these complex tasks which are so important to modern societies all over the globe. The graduate curriculum is designed by the Higher Education Commission to provide a specialized education for career advancement or further work towards Master and doctoral degrees in the various fields of Engineering. Mechanical engineers are engaged in researching, developing, designing, manufacturing, and testing mechanical devices like tools, engines, power machines, production systems etc. They work on developing both power-producing as well as power using machines. Mechanical engineers can also be involved in designing tools and equipment that other engineers require for their work.
These days, the field of nanotechnology (which involves the creation of high-performance materials and components by integrating atoms and molecules) has introduced completely new principles to the design process. Mechanical engineers are assisted by computers and by performing accurate and efficient computations and by completing the modeling and simulation of new designs as well as facilitating changes to existing designs. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) are used for design data processing and for converting mere designs into goods and products. Mechanical engineers work on energy systems, automotive design, manufacturing processes, materials testing and selection, plants engineering and maintenance, pressure vessels and piping, heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems in various industries. Mechanical engineers may either be hired in manufacturing operations in production or agriculture, maintenance, or technical sales, or can be involved in administrative and managerial tasks.

About Department of Civil Engineering
Civil Engineers cater for the national needs of buildings, highways, dams, bridges, irrigation network and water supply systems, and are the world’s largest users of building materials. Department of Civil Engineering has been established to disseminate Civil Engineering education. Plans are also underway to establish the Advanced Centers and Research Laboratories in the fields of Civil Engineering.
ICBS is a student-oriented, multi-faceted research institute. The Department of Civil Engineering consists of a group of students and faculty who are dedicated to work together to build a sustainable future through the development of civil infrastructure in the country and the betterment of our global environment.
