Set up in 2014 the Department of English Literature and Linguistics has on offer various programs of English studies in a wide array of diplomas and degrees in B.S four year, M.A, MPhil and PhD drawing on the higher education and varied experience of both regular (3 PhD) and visiting (3 PhD) faculty members trained both within Pakistan as well as abroad.
The hallmark of the department, in addition to, regular in-house academic activities is the publication of its own research journal-Imperial Journal of Linguistics and Literature, an easily accessible tool for young scholars of this institution of higher learning to boost their research skills in the relevant fields as well as the center for research in lexicography, translation studies and the allied areas operating under the aegis of PAKLEX (Pakistan Association of Lexicography) with its headquarters in the department of English at the ICBS with the regular plans to organize colloquia workshops, seminars and conferences at both institutional, national and international levels. The department also encourages students and faculty members to be part of all kind research activities organized nationally as well as internationally.
